If a Blog Fails on the Internet
We have all heard the saying "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
There are millions of blogs and websites on the web. Most of those sites are trying to get a message out. Many are failing.
The question I have to ask is "If a blog fails on the Internet, and no one went there to read it, did it make a sound?"
Michael Hyatt selected me as a member of a launch team for his new book Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World. This provided me with an opportunity to read his book before the release date of May 22. I have watched the consistent growth of his blog and can attest to the fact that what he teaches in this book is true. Through trial and error Michael documented both his success' and failures and shares them with you.
You will quickly learn it is the organizations ability, even if it is only one person, to build a Platform and get their message out that determines whether they succeed or fail.
If you have something say or sell you will want to read this book.
In Part One: Start with Wow will teach you that "The secret to success in any business is to deliver a great compelling product." Create a compelling product, deliver a WOW experience and exceed expectations leaving a lasting memory.
In Part Two: Prepare to Launch you will take responsibility for your product. No one but you is responsible for getting your product noticed. Learn what you need to create an elevator pitch and how to assemble a crew who will give raving endorsements.
In Part Three: Building Your Home Base learn where to focus your efforts, including how, where and why you need to start a blog. You will learn methods for writing faster, common mistakes and important pages to include on your blog. Hint, one page is an about page. Michael give an example of a well written about page to model.
In Part Four: Expand Your Reach you are given tools to kiss marketing goodbye. You will understand what is important, how to generate traffic, draw subscribers and how to keep them. Learn Twitter and Facebook basics to help promote and grow your brand.
In Part Five: Engage Your Tribe learn how to create an active environment where people will post comments on your blog. Create content they will share on Facebook and Tweet to their friends. Topics such as guest posting and give-a-ways are also covered.
The back of the book has resources you will not want to miss.

- Software and websites mention throughout the book
This is a book that you will not want to put down, but you will put it down. As you read through this book you will want to start everything immediately. You will refer to this book time and again. If you follow the recommendations Michael gives, you too could build a Platform.
It is exciting for me to have such a resource in my hands. All of the information in this book is information I have searched for. It is what I need to take my blog to the next level. It is what you need too.
